topaz119: (milky way)
Good morning, happy Monday, long time, no chat—work got ridiculous here, to the point where I was replying to emails while I was at Disney World by saying that I would be happy to help with their suddenly-on-fire project, but that a) at Disney World; and b) *already* working with somebody else's suddenly-on-fire project and had another one in the queue. Between what I worked at Disney and what I worked over this last weekend, I practically have another forty hours on the books.

At least I get paid on contract hours these days, because I would have flipped out if I'd been on salary.

My brain is kind of mush, though, enough that I lost all momentum on my reading this year. I have a half-dozen books started, but they're all (even the fluffy romances) making my brain hurt to read them. Fortunately, I saw a comment on one of my gazillion bookish blogs to the audiobook version of As You Wish, Cary Elwes' memoir of making The Princess Bride, which I read a few years ago and adored. I'm happy to say the audio version is almost as nice, and includes about half of the people quoted in the book to narrate their parts. It's very soothing during our especially horrible traffic these days. (Did I talk about the interstate that collapsed a few weeks ago? Yeah, that's not far from the house/the high school, and while I don't work in-town these days, the only way for the quarter of a million cars that use that route to get into the city now is to use the interstate I *do* take to the office around to I75. Traffic is entirely f*cked until they rebuild the burnt out part, sigh.)

Oh! I forgot to mention that #2Son got picked to do the wand ceremony at Ollivander's in Diagon Alley when we were there over spring break. It was pretty excellent! Not only is the 'wand picking the wizard' scene very well-staged (and the guys playing Mr. Ollivander are totally into it), but #2 went along with being the center of attention really well. Given his sometimes-overwhelming anxiety, this is not always the case, and while he said later that he could have done without the 'audience participation', at the time, he was super laidback and even cracked a few jokes when the first few wands didn't work out so well. I, of course, bought the wand that 'picked' him—I had already been contemplating getting one of the interactive wands, and it seemed like the thing to do when the wand is picked for you. So, now we have a scary-looking wand that Mr. Ollivander assures us is good for prophecying and scrying. I really didn't get to spend enough time in Diagon Alley, though the weather was overcast and drizzly, which added enormously to the atmosphere. I also didn't get to do dinner at Toothsome's Chocolate Emporium, the steampunk restaurant at Citywalk, so I foresee more time spent at Universal in my future.

I should probably also mention that I skimmed through my lj friendslist, back to before the new TOS announcement, and added as many people who made mention of having a DW as I could find, but I probably missed leaving a comment saying as much on a fair number of journals, so, um, if you're one of those people, hi? I also actually looked at my Manage Circle page on DW and tried to clean that up a bit, because it appears that I missed ppl subscribing here, oops? Sorry, again. I'm probably going to shift base here at some point, but did I mention the craziness at work? Plus, it's tax season so that's taking up stupid amounts of time, too. Sorting out online presence is on my list, though, so at some point I will address it.

I will leave you with a fun fic rec to distract your brain from the general blah-ness of another Monday in 45's administration:
The Principle of Terrestrial Mediocrity, by [archiveofourown.org profile] AlphaFlyer, Ant Man | MCU, gen, ~5000 words===Luis likes his job at Stark Tower and would like to tell you about a special Friday night. :D
topaz119: (color in darkness)
Holiday greetings to everyone celebrating!

cutting for the holiday mundanity? mundaneness? )

I've been dipping into yuletide a little at a time--before I lose track, have a few of the stories I've enjoyed:

Indian Ocean. Present Day., Top Gun, Maverick/Ice, ~16,500 words, Mature === Post-apoc Navy pilots trying to hold it all together, holy cow, how many tropes does this one hit for me? Many, many, many is the answer.

Therefore Is Winged Cupid Painted Blind, Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries, Jack/Phryne, ~6200 words, Explicit === ::fans self:: When pressed, Jack has quite the mouth on him. (Mind the warnings.)

We Arrive In The Dark, The Devil Wears Prada, Andy/Miranda, ~5800 words, Mature === Fantastic Miranda Priestly voice, an Andy who is both mature enough to deal with Miranda and still not very polished, all woven together with a lush fairy tale theme that remembers both the sparkly part and the darkness of reality, all without being a fairy tale itself.
topaz119: (HeartsFromTheBeach)
I'm almost embarrassed to post some of these, they're so old, but good fic never expires, yeah?

17 recs--gen, het, slash, MCU, Inception, Bond, SPN, TFA )

...and the rest of the stuff I've loved over the years is on [pinboard.in profile] topaz119
topaz119: (library)
my backlog is ridiculous, so please bear with me as I try to catch up. These are the oldest on my list, but possibly you might find a few you haven't already seen?

10 links, het, gen, slash, MCU, Pacific Rim )
topaz119: (happy endings)
I... have lost count of how many bookmarks I have in my Things That Made Me Happy tag, but here's the oldest page on the tag. On the plus side, I actually made it up to the post-Winter Soldier reading binge, so hey, I'm only about 10 months behind at this point (which is to say that, as usual, you've probably seen the bulk of these, but there might be a few you missed, or a few you might enjoy re-reading.) I add my standard disclaimers that I very much hope I managed to comment or--at the very least--leave kudos (while logged in) on all of these, but in the (very) likely case that I missed one or two: Thank you! I loved your story!

All previous bookmarks are on [pinboard.in profile] topaz119, where they are tagged and sortable (closing in on 900!)

24 recs -- slash, het, gen | MCU + 1 SPN & 1 Sleepy Hollow )

To counteract all of the above, here, have some vids that I have loved (warning: some of these have been languishing in my bookmarks for a really long time, but that doesn't mean I didn't love them, just that I am slow about getting things written up.)

Hit Me Up, by [livejournal.com profile] barkley and [livejournal.com profile] destina, Bond (DC version), vid === Crisp, sharp, glorious... basically, 3 minutes of why Craig has suddenly become my favorite Bond.

glad you came, by [livejournal.com profile] lilly_the_kid, Fast & Furious, vid === Family, sun, speed, all wrapped up in Paul Walker's heart-stopping smile. I have no idea how I'm going to get through the next movie.

Fireproof, by [personal profile] mithborien, Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters, vid === This showcases all the things I actually liked about the movie and skips right over the stuff that I rolled my eyes at. Slow and more sad than not, but not totally dark.

Comin' Home Baby, by [livejournal.com profile] destina, Ocean's 11, vid === All kinds of fun with a Mel Torme soundtrack. Perfect.

Bedroom Hymns, by [personal profile] lady_with_cats, The Hour, vid === This would be what sucked me right into watching the show, which is one of the many reasons I love vids.

Problem, by [personal profile] talitha78, Captain America | MCU, vid === The Winter Soldier in all his fucked-up glory.

Orange Crush, by [livejournal.com profile] gwyn, Captain America | MCU, Steve x Bucky, vid === The parallels between Captain America and the Winter Soldier.

lies in dust by [tumblr.com profile] thepteryx, Captain America | MCU, Steve x Bucky, vid === One more Winter Soldier vid, short and to the point.

Parachute, by [youtube.com profile] twwings, Leverage, Parker/Hardison/Eliot, vid === There is a reason all my posts with these three are tagged OT3ofFUN and this vid describes it perfectly.

I haven't gotten these cross-posted yet, but all my previous recs are archived at [pinboard.in profile] topaz119 if you're looking for more ways to kill some time.
topaz119: (AgtCoulson)
I thought I'd posted this last week, but apparently my brain is telling me stories again. So, more things that made me happy, all older, pre-Cap2//AOS Clint/Coulsons this time (because, wow, I really do read a lot of that pairing...)

SHIELDHusbands4ever!!? )

As always, previous recs (in many fandoms) are available on [pinboard.in profile] topaz119
topaz119: (HeartsFromTheBeach)
Wow, so I missed a couple of pages of bookmarks from way-back-when. Let's call this start on catching up The Things That Made Me Happy, v. Avengers--Older, Gen/Het/Slash, all with the Hawkeye factor.

13 in this batch, no Cap 2/AOS end-of-season spoilers )

Previous recs available at [pinboard.in profile] topaz119
topaz119: (Avengers)
ugh, normal life resumes in the morning, so here, have some things that made me happy. All Avengers/MCU/Marvel 616 and older, so there are no Cap 2 spoilers in any of them, and the AoS spoilers are pretty basic (most are not even up to the first round of revelations re: Tahiti.)

eta: now with actual, functioning links!

our bruises are coming, but we will never fold , by [archiveofourown.org profile] liveonthesun, MCU (Agent Carter, Captain America, The Avengers), gen (Peggy Carter), ~3200 words, Teen === Peggy takes Howard’s best shot at approximating Erskine’s formula and carries on the Super Soldier program after Steve ditches, because she is awesome like that.

basking in the aftermath, by [archiveofourown.org profile] Kathar, MCU (Agents of SHIELD, The Avengers), Clint/Coulson, ~18,100 words, Explicit === Pre-Magical Place Tahiti, where everybody recovers and figures out how to move on. Definitely AU now, with everything that's happened with both AoS & CA:TWS, but I still got sucked into a complete re-read when I went to write up this rec.

The Best Bad Ideas, by [archiveofourown.org profile] copperbadge, MCU (Agents of SHIELD, The Avengers), Clint/Coulson, ~17,800 words, Explicit === Clint puts on Captain America’s uniform (for actual, legitimate reasons) and discovers a little something about Coulson in the aftermath. And – of course – being Clint, he just can’t leave it alone.

The Dawn of the Last Great Day, by [archiveofourown.org profile] ignipes, MCU (Captain America, The Avengers, comics-verse Winter Soldier), Steve/Bucky, ~13,800 words, Teen === The Winter Soldier knows better than to ask why he’s supposed to kill Captain America, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t questioning the order. Or starting to remember things they don’t want him to remember. Posted pre-CA:TWS, so no movie-specific spoilers.

Cold Making Warmth, by [archiveofourown.org profile] sheafrotherdon, MCU (The Avengers), Steve/Tony, ~2,400 words, Teen === Steve decides to buy everyone presents. Holiday fluff of the best kind.

Reward System - The Coulson Card, by [archiveofourown.org profile] adamantsteve, MCU (pre-Avengers), Clint/Coulson, ~10,800 words, Mature === Coulson works out a way to bribe Clint into taking care of himself, but Clint doesn't mind as much as he thought he might.

The Clockwork Murders, by [archiveofourown.org profile] selenay, MCU AU (Avengers), Clint/Coulson, ~76,400 words, Mature === A novel-length, steampunk adventure in which Mr. Phillip Coulson, quiet gentleman by day, investigates unusual happenings with his somewhat down-on-his-luck, American valet, Barton. Be. Still. My. Heart.

Land of Enchantment, by [archiveofourown.org profile] visiblemarket, MCU (pre-Avengers, Iron Man 2, Thor), Clint/Coulson, ~6,800 words, Explicit === SHIELDHusbands, working things out in and around the events of Iron Man 2, Thor, & Fury's Big Week. Surprisingly domestic without sacrificing the hassles of being SHIELD agents.

You Move Like a Dream I Had, by [archiveofourown.org profile] Serenitala, Avengers, Clint/Coulson, ~8000 words, Mature === Post-Avengers, and Clint is taking on more than might be possible to bear.

As always, previous recs are available with proper tagging and sorting on [pinboard.in profile] topaz119
topaz119: (hearts)
okay, time to clean out the bookmarks -- non-Avengers-related favorites first. 10 recs in 10 fandoms, slash/het/gen

At Home With Lady Damerel, by [archiveofourown.org profile] brutti_ma_buoini, Venetia (Georgette Heyer), Venetia/Damerel,~3100 words, Teen === Venetia & Damerel are (initial meet-not-so-cute aside) my favorite of Heyer's couples. I love that they're very clear-sighted about themselves and each other, but they still become friends. That lays the path for their romance, which is one of my most favorite tropes. This picks up after their marriage and is really just perfect.

dwarves are very upsetting, by [archiveofourown.org profile] empressearwig, Bet Me / Into the Woods, Min/Calvin, ~3600 words, Teen === Min's dream has a familiar, Broadway bent to it.

Unwritten Rules, by [archiveofourown.org profile] lyra_wing, Almost Human, Dorian/Kennex, ~4700 words, Mature === John and Dorian and feeeeeeeelings. All totally in character, ♥

Forty-Two, by [archiveofourown.org profile] knitmeapony, The Unusuals / Warehouse 13, gen, ~1500 words === Delahoy calls in a consult wrt Banks & his issues about 42.

measure a year, by [archiveofourown.org profile] noplacespecial, The Unusuals, Walsh/Shraeger, ~4800 words, Teen === Walsh & Shraeger dancing around each other, chronicled through a year of birthdays (and one that didn't quite make it.)

One Night Stands and Vanilla Cupcakes, by [archiveofourown.org profile] redtoes, Arrow, Feliciy/Oliver, ~16,000 words, Explicit === Oliver wakes up and smells the coffee when presented with evidence of Felicity actually having a life outside of Team Arrow. Dig thinks it's about damn time.

Five Times Oliver Held Felicity (And The One Time She Held Him), by [archiveofourown.org profile] ageless_aislynn, Arrow, Feliciy/Oliver, ~3400 words, Teen === Quick snapshots that actually manage to feel pretty true to the show's atmosphere and satisfy my Olicity cravings at the same time. This happens far less often than you might think.

always room in life for this, by [archiveofourown.org profile] Siria, Bourne Legacy, Marta/Aaron, ~936 words, Teen === Marta and Aaron find a place.

Reconstruction Site, by [archiveofourown.org profile] disco_vendetta, Pacific Rim, Raleigh/Mako, ~8300 words, Teen === Raleigh and Mako (and Herc and Newt and Hermann) adjust to life after the Rift. Generally, movies that are all about giant robots punching giant monsters don't lend themselves to fluffy domesticity like this one does, but that's why we love it so much.

Come Once Again and Love Me, by [archiveofourown.org profile] janekrahe, Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters, Hansel/Gretel, ~7300 words, Mature === Hansel tentatively lets himself think about Gretel and who she really is to him.
topaz119: (Avengers)
I had to take a break from the angst-fest I'm in the middle of writing (at least I'm at the point where I can write the turn but I clearly did not think through the implications of all this when I blithely started down this path) so I wrote up a batch of 10 more things that made me happy.

all Avengers/MCU, multiple pairings, slash, het & poly )
topaz119: (HeartsFromTheBeach)
My dad is watching UFC, welcome to the holiday, sigh. Have some yuletide goodness?

second squad, this is delahoy, be advised by [archiveofourown.org profile] Anonymous, The Unusuals, gen, Delahoy, 1669 words, Teen === Second Squad rallies around Delahoy, everyone in perfect character. Note the warnings, but if the show had gone this way, this is exactly how it would have played out.

A cold, beautiful truth by [archiveofourown.org profile] Anonymous, Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol, gen, team, 1578 words, Teen === Undercover snark mixed nicely with tension, gunfire and feels. Pretty much exactly what sucked me into this fandom to begin with.

On The Same Page by [archiveofourown.org profile] Anonymous, The Mummy, Evy Carnahan/Rick O'Connell, 3040 words, Teen === Evy isn't getting cold feet about her engagement, not exactly. She's just concerned that Rick doesn't understand how boring a librarian's life generally is. Rick knows better. ♥ ♥ ♥

And the Waves Clasp One Another by [archiveofourown.org profile] Anonymous, Persuasion (Jane Austen), Admiral Croft/Sophia Croft, 2065 words === Lovely story of Sophia joining her new husband aboard his ship.

Lost & Found by [archiveofourown.org profile] Anonymous, Bourne Legacy, Aaron Cross/Marta Shearing, 3678 words, Teen === I really love this take of Marta and Aaron allowing themselves to find a new life, and I really, really love where they ultimately end up.

queen and consequence by [archiveofourown.org profile] Anonymous, Princess Diaries, Nicholas Devereaux/Mia Thermopolis, 1778 words, G === Mia and Nicholas, navigating the waters of a modern romance in the public eye. A thousand bonus points for the cameo from Joe and the Queen.

Furlough by [archiveofourown.org profile] Anonymous, Arrow, gen, John Diggle & Oliver Queen & Felicity Smoak,, 3964 words, Teen === Everybody deserves a night off and Felicity has the frequent flyer miles to take care of it. Bonus points for Dig having many hidden domestic talents.

we are not your island (you are not our distant shore) by [archiveofourown.org profile] Anonymous, Arrow>, John Diggle/Oliver Queen/Felicity Smoak, 2751 words, Teen === In which Oliver is a little slow on the uptake, but he gets there in the end.

Always and Forever by [archiveofourown.org profile] Anonymous, Pern, Sean Connell/Sorka Hanrahan, 1078 words, G === Sean and Sorka through the years. Actual drabbles, be still my heart.

In the second house on the left by [archiveofourown.org profile] Anonymous, The Scarlet Pimpernel, gen, 1162 words, G === Chauvelin does not give up easily; the Pimpernel accepts the challenge.

Peppermint by [archiveofourown.org profile] Anonymous, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, Yukon Cornelius/Hermey, 1454 words, G === Y'all! This is so adorable and sweet and, just, full of love and caring. I swear it will not scar your childhood.

Repercussions by [archiveofourown.org profile] Anonymous, Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters, gen, 5025 words, Mature === Post-canon, Hansel deals (not so well) with missing Mina while Gretel has more important things on her mind.
topaz119: (winter)
Those of you who've been around for a while know that my relationship with my parents is not always a smooth one. We're all trying to be better about it, but it's still best if I have something I can do while I'm visiting so I can mentally check out during together-time. The gas fireplace they put in recently is very helpful in that it gives me an excellent reason to sit on the opposite side of the room with a book or a tablet or something. The only thing is that it's not an environment particularly conducive to actual creative work, so writing or reading something that I'm really into is out.

This year at Thanksgiving, I had a stroke of genius and started sorting through all the recs and bookmarks I'd accumulated over the years. Going way back, I had stuff in delicious, but then that imploded and I got in the habit of just sharing them on lj, and then dw. I imported my delicious into pinboard, but my tagging was worth shit and then there were the many hundred links I had that were just sitting around. So this Thanksgiving, I sat in front of the fire and copied and pasted and reworked my tagging and generally found some order in the utter mess.

I still have about 50 new recs to add in, but I've decided I'm never going to be actually caught up there, so I'm declaring victory and (:: cues fanfare::) saying here they are:

[pinboard.in profile] topaz119 - Currently, 792 recs/links in 40+ fandoms (not counting the miscellaneous books, TV, and movies where I only have a single rec
The big ones are (no surprises here):

  • Marvel Movies
  • Supernatural
  • CWrpf
  • Hawaii Five-0,
  • popslash
…but there are at least 10 more fandoms that have 5 or more links and bunches more that only have a few (but yuletide is nigh upon us again, so that number may grow.)

As my Eastern European aunties used to say: Please to enjoy!

Note: I did not go back & check for dead links--possibly that will happen once I get the most recent batch written up.

Note2: These are things that made me happy and, as such, exclude wide swathes of the fannish zeitgeist (A/B/O I'm looking at you.) I also do not consistently mention warnings so please be aware of that as you click through & check at the fic itself.

So, this is turning into Rec Week around here... 3 Avengers crossovers (with Grimm, Hansel & Gretel, and Skyfall) and 11 other recs in Bourne Legacy, Pacific Rim, Hansel & Gretel, Generation Kill, Star Trek, Sherlock, and Julia Quinn's Bridgertons

Summer colds are such a drag. Not that I especially like winter colds, but at least I'm not missing out on lazing-by-the-pool time then.

One plus is that I'm napping during the day and dreaming vividly, with the real bonus being plots streaming through my subconscious. It's always fun to dream my favorites in Technicolor, especially when I remember enough to make notes and outline plots. #ijusttakedictationaroundhere

    ...and daily bookmarks:

know you're not alone, by [archiveofourown.org profile] curiouslyfic, Hawkeye, Clint Barton/Steve Rogers, ~1300 words, Teen === For so few words, a lot happens here. Terrific Kate Bishop voice.

With a Capital T and that Rhymes with C and that Stands for Agent Barton, by [archiveofourown.org profile] the_wordbutler, Iron Man 2/Thor | MCU, Clint Barton/Phil Coulson, ~2200 words, Teen === Pancakes on the way to Thor's hammer.
    topaz119: (needfulthings)
    random things:

  • Somehow (I suspect being packed into a tiny church with 200 other people for the funeral) I have a cold. It is, of course, the first day I can remember seeing blue skies in weeks and I am huddled under my quilt. bleh.

  • Oldest and I hung out and watched Hansel and Gretel: Witchhunters a couple of days ago, which was kindof fun. A little too bloody for my taste, especially since I felt like it wasted more than one potentially interesting plot point in favor of yet another exploding head. spoilers ) The boots they were wearing were awesome, though. :D

  • My mother has been giving me these sad-puppy eyes about how I don't ever get to write anything fun (because I'm not writing novels for publication) for the last few years, so this spring, I figured out how to edit an ePub, fiddled with you need a rock not a rolling stone (where "fiddled with" == "rewrote all the sex scenes to be not explicit, because: my *mother*"), explained the basics of fan fic, and put the file on her iPad right before we finished up Beach Week. Nerve.Wracking.

  • We have a slightly intimidating (for me, at least) number of cosplays in the works for DragonCon and 6 weeks to finish them up.
    1. Oldest is doing Fraction/Aja's Hawkeye and Hawkeye with one of his friends. There is an outside chance that another one of his friends (who is Russian and a redhead) will do Natasha with them and a more likely chance that L's boys will be Tracksuit Mafia-types. Mostly, we just need to track down purple sneakers for this, as he is all over the ratty jeans/t-shirt combo in RL.
    2. BabyBoy, #2Son & I are conspiring to be the young Redmond, Blutarch and the Administrator from Team Fortress 2, if I can find a purple suit. Still need bowlers and ribbon to trim/make string ties for the boys.
    3. #2 (who is the Maker Boy around here) is experimenting with inflatable octopi to see if we can adapt an existing steampunk persona of mine for something out of Walking Your Octopus: A Guidebook to the Domesticated Cephalopod.
    4. Oldest has something else going on, too, but all I know is that he needs a black suit and red hair dye. Getting the hair dye out is going to kill him, though he doesn't quite believe that.

::eyes list, tries not to just quit now::

...and finally, back to clearing out/sharing bookmarks and favorites:

Couldn't Get That Boy To Kill Me, by [archiveofourown.org profile] redbrunja, Avengers | MCU, Clint Barton/Natasha Romanoff, ~3200 words, Explicit === I love the jagged edges in this and how they fit together.

All You Have To Do Is Open Your Eyes, by [archiveofourown.org profile] torakowalski, The Losers, Cougar/Jensen, ~5500 words, Explicit === Cougar doesn't talk, but Jensen understands perfectly.
  • topaz119: (somanybooks)
I'm running behind this week, so Reading Wednesday is happening today )

    …and today's bookmarks…
she blinded me with political science by [archiveofourown.org profile] thingswithteeth, Avengers | MCU, Darcy Lewis/Bruce Banner, ~61,800 words, Mature === This is nice and long and sets things up so that I can totally buy this account of how Darcy ends up dealing with the Avengers PR needs.

lifehack by [archiveofourown.org profile] edibleflowers, Avengers | MCU, Natasha Romanoff/Clint Barton, ~17,900 words, Mature === Very nice take on Hawkeye making the different call and how it might have gone after that, both good and bad and tying in with Natasha's "you know that I have," from the movie.
    topaz119: (needfulthings)
My brain is tired (family stuff, nothing new, just the continued worries re: health issues of kids and parents) so a bullet list is about all I've got energy for:

  • To add to the taut/taunt|there/they're/their|whose/who's|etc, etc, etc files (and brought to you by the ridiculous amount of Hawkeye-centric fic I've been reading): repel/rappel. Given how often Clint Barton takes a dive off a collapsing building, this is really starting to bug me. No, he does not force back the building, he descends by means of a rappel. I know you all know this already; thank you for listening.

  • Somewhere in there, I've managed to miss not only my 10th lj-versary (like, by a *year*; I'm coming up on my 11th!) but also that I've somehow managed to post more than 1000 things on tumblr. Who knew I had either of them in me?

  • In my quest to keep at least a tiny bit of separation between boys and their screens this summer, I stumbled upon diy.org, which has all kinds of cool projects and skills and promises to soon have actual patches available for purchase upon the completion of a skill set. My First Class Girl Scout heart is all aflutter!

Returning to my never-ending attempt to clear out my bookmarks:

escape from new york by [archiveofourown.org profile] beardsley, Avengers, Steve/Bucky, ~12,100 words, Mature === Poor Steve: sex pollen hits New York and he has no idea what to do. Note the sex pollen--if it's not your thing, be aware, but if it *is* your thing, this is lots of fun. The emotional center is Steve/Bucky, but you name a pairing/threesome/moresome and it's probably there, and in very good cheer.

so you were never a saint by [archiveofourown.org profile] paperclipbitch, Skyfall, gen with excellent Q|Moneypenny|Bond, ~12,300 words, Teen === This is one of those fics that I will have to consciously remove from my brain before I see the next movie, because it blends and extends canon so perfectly.
  • topaz119: (wdw)
2 days down, 3 to go and we're off to the Land of Mickey. If you'd like a little something commemorative, drop me a comment and tell me who your favorite character is and I'll see what I can do.

    Old/new favorites:

but hey, you're all right, by [archiveofourown.org profile] beardsley, Avengers, Steve Rogers/Bucky Barnes, ~5500 words, Teen === The Winter Soldier as Russian mail-order bride--but there's less crack and more angst than that description might have you thinking.

Like a Liar Would Believe, by [archiveofourown.org profile] samalander, Avengers, Clint Barton/Natasha Romanoff, Natasha Romanoff/Bucky Barnes, Steve Rogers/Bucky Barnes, ~27,900 words, Mature === One more (excellent) take on 'He made a different call.'
