I just read "When Push Comes to Shove" (in between listening to the vice-presidential debate), and then I started reading some other stories on your list, and came across this 5 Things list... and there's number 5! The casino with the poltergeist problem, the redhead, and Dean was apparently planning the three-way in advance? So anyway, it looks like your plot bunny hung in there until you sat down and wrote the story. I enjoyed both postings.
