I'd kind of like to think that Danny's going to have some issues of his own, centered around the residual stuff from his divorce, so that there would need to be several fraught non-conversations before Danny really and truly gets that Steve talks through his actions, and then once Danny gets that, Steve gets that he's not going anywhere and all is as well as the two of them can get w/all the bickering. =)

And yes. SO MUCH THIS INCARNATION, not Jack Lord. Bless him, but he makes this version look like a motormouth. though I did see one original episode not long ago, where an injured Danno was taken hostage in the hospital by a PTSD Vietnam vet, and Steve worried and fretted and tried to get to him using some kind of a metal shield in front of him, and Chin kept having to tell him, "keep calm, Steve." I'd hate to see what this version of Steve McGarrett would do if Danny was bleeding out somewhere. Grenade launchers and sniper rifles come to mind. ;)
