i would read a million words of cordelia and aral, having decided that the only thing they can do is to change barrayar so it is a world where miles can fit, setting out to do so. alas, we pick up next with miles, age 15, and while i love miles well enough, i find him a wee bit too familiar ;) (i have been accused of being miles vorkosigan too many times for my own good!) i mean, don't get me wrong, miles is a fabulous character, but the entire series has so many amazing characters i want to spend more time with. (if you do not fall in love with gregor, i will eat my hat.)
fortunately, there is fanfic! it is traditional, for people who came into the books via the fic to be very startled that there's all that miles in the books. (i don't know whether the fandom agrees with me that the secondary characters are more interesting or are intimidated by the thought of writing miles, but either way, the fic tends to concentrate on aral-and-cordelia, on gregor, or on ensemble fic.)
