happy tuesday
oy, I did not mean to disappear! On the bright side, I now (unexpectedly) have several newly painted rooms, but HOMG, it's probably going to take me until spring break to get everything clean and put away again. (Painters called to say they could give me a (substantial) discount on said painting, which had been scheduled for April to go along with some other work, if I could let them come in 2 days. I said yes, which, yay for $$$ but gahhhh for everything else.)
It's 37°/3° and thunderstorming, so of course D's baseball season is in full swing and he is coming home like a popsicle. I'm doing my best Southern US hygge with a fire and stew and lots of wooly blankets, but I hate it when it's cold and rainy. Cold and snowy is bad enough, but the rain is so dreary. I have even broken out the emergency BeardedChrisEvans candle (I'm rationing it now b/c Yankee Candle has discontinued the scent, D:).
In cooking news, I'm working my way through Chrissy Teigen's new cookbook, which is super-entertaining and fun (and sooooo different than the dreary, boring cookbooks my poor Mom had to deal with. No wonder she was an uninspired cook.) (Favorite recipe so far is the scallop linguine with casino breadcrumbs, which I will provide if desired. I looked but couldn't find it online to link to... but, good gravy that was gooooood.)
Writing-wise, I finished more PWP Han/Lando, which kept me surprisingly entertained even as I was trying to figure out the non-info-dump way to describe positions. Like I said in the notes on AO3, I sort of want to write them all the way through canon. My writing brain thinks time/independent wealth would be a such good thing.
and finishing off, #2Son & I are on Season 3 of Star Wars: Rebels and I am doing a fair amount of yelling at Ezra, he who thought playing with the Sith Holocron was an okay idea. Teenagers, sheesh. Also, I am delighted to see Thrawn, as I feel we owe the existence of all of this ever-expanding universe to him (and I suppose, Timothy Zahn.)
