So, I abandoned all hope of getting caught up on SPN, and just watched Ep#200 anyway.
The 2 days gave me plenty of time to see the deliriously happy reactions across all social media platforms--twitter, tumblr, lj/dw, fb, standalone blogs... all of it. So, off I went to watch (an adventure in itself as the DVR was having issues and omg, the CW streaming options SUCK. No wonder people still bootleg in this day and age. Holy shit, who the hell is running their online strategy? But I digress.)
#2Son heard me swearing at my various electronic devices and came wandering in to offer assistance and got sucked into it with the title card montage and ended up watching with me, and you know, it was fun. It was entertaining and I liked it and I laughed and appreciated all the fandom shoutouts, but...
But I wasn't getting that OMG!FEELS! that everyone else seemed to have gotten (that, indeed, I had gotten from the Winchesters, too, for years and years.)
And I thought (sadly) that it really was over between me and the show. It had been a long and glorious run, and I still had much fondness, but the real emotional attachment was finally gone. And then Musical!Mary launched into the as-promised Wayward Son cover and the next thing I know, #2 is saying, "Are you *crying*?" and goddamnit, no, I am not over this show, not at all. Possibly not ever, given that I went and rewatched immediately (still cursing the CW and their tragically bad streaming options) and started tearing up even before the song the second time.
#2 texted Oldest to rat me out on the crying; BabyBoy watched with me the 2nd time around (and knew the Rent quote, as he has been watching that obsessively lately); I haven't ever had so much activity on my twitter feed as I did after mentioning that I'd watched, and y'know, all-in-all, it was a very cathartic few hours.
So, of course I had to come share here. ♥ ♥ ♥
