things that made me happy, part the second
Next batch, and god, I hope I got all of these coded right. (On the bright side, at least I'm into things I bookmarked in August. Only two more months to catch up on, yay?)
yes, and back again, by
irnan, The Avengers, gen, ~3900 words === The Life and Times of Tony's Jet.
Culture and Other Balls of Twine, by
lithiumDoll, The Avengers, gen, ~8300 words === Team roadtrip. Post-movie, everyone's still feeling everyone else out.
still officially lost, by
pollyrepeat, The Avengers, gen, Clint & Phil, ~11,900 words === Super-fun backstory with a teenaged Clint and not-yet-completely-unflappable Agent Coulson who's trying hard to do the right thing.
Amateur Theatrics, by
galaxysoup, The Avengers, gen, ~23,900 words === Magic happens. The team (except Clint) is kinda messed up and that's before you count the kid wearing Loki's armor. (For the record, this one has bodyswap, genderswap, loss of superpowers, amnesia, *and* it's a kid-fic. Yay for All Of The Tropes!) (Posted pre-movie, so there's no need for fix-it and some of the character interactions are AU. Still a ton of fun, though.)
fighting fire with firewood, by
Siria, The Avengers, Clint/Natasha, ~6400 words, Explicit === Clint and Natasha, being unmade and remade. Another one that gets slotted into my personal headcanon.
Boys Wanna Be Her, by
paperclipbitch, The Avengers, Clint/Natasha, Explicit, ~7000 words === Bodyswap. Non-angsty. Happy, happy sigh.
Cakewalk, by
Edonohana, The Avengers, Clint/Natasha, Teen, ~2700 words === Post-movie, Fury sends Hawkeye out with Black Widow. It's a cakewalk assignment, but it's still hard.
Mr. & Mrs. Barton (Or: Why Natasha Sends Jennifer Aniston an Annual Apologetic Fruit Basket) , by
shellybelle, The Avengers, Clint/Natasha, Teen, ~13,600 words === The BlackHawk backstory with a v. v. amusing slant.
A Matter of Importance, by
Zinnith, The Avengers, Clint/Phil/Natasha, Explicit, ~3800 words === For a story that's five times Coulson watched/heard Clint and Natasha have sex, this story has a ton of emotions other than lust.
Sum of 180 Degrees, by
Zinnith, The Avengers, Clint/Phil/Natasha, Teen, ~5200 words === Set immediately post-movie (so, y'know, spoilers for all that entails.) Necessary relationships and equilateral triangles and cotton candy. No, really, that does make sense once you read it and this could be canon.
Loved Long Since, and Lost Awhile, by
DevilDoll, The Avengers, Clint/Phil, Teen, ~6800 words === Clint, trying to get through everything after Loki. Backstory and fix-it, but jfc, my heart.
Enemies Foreign and Domestic, by
Peapods, The Avengers/The West Wing, Clint/Phil, Teen, ~3300 words === SHIELD lends a hand undercover agent to the FBI and the White House.
The Gift of Idunn, by
shell, The Avengers, Clint/Phil, Mature, ~14,400 words === Usually it's Clint who's ripping my heart out, but in this case, Phil is taking point. Alternate universes, but not at all crack (well, come on, given canon, there's a lot to work with.)
Hope is Not a Course of Action, by
thatdamneddame, The Avengers, Clint/Phil, Mature, ~12,600 words === Backstory, with a healthy mix of comics-canon. Sharp and unflinching, but makes the resolution that much more satisfying.
Be running up that road, by
ellievolia, The Avengers, Clint/Phil, Explicit, ~19,500 words === Clint being a cage fighter (not as backstory but while being an Avenger) works a lot better than you might think. Coulson is awesome, as usual.
Don't Mention Demi Moore, by
so_shhy, The Avengers, Clint/Phil, Teen, ~14,600 words === Post-movie and Coulson has a "slight disembodiment problem." I loved the relationship between Clint and Phil (you're all shocked, I know) but I *really* loved the team rallying to fix things.
To Say His Name, by
mapleandmahogany, The Avengers, Clint/Phil, ~15,100 words === A little fluffier than some of my other Phil/Clint favorites, but sometimes you need a little less edge.
By the Book, by
Perpetual, The Avengers, Clint/Phil, Teen, ~3000 words === Half of SHIELD thinks they're already fucking, but Phil goes by the book. At least part of the reason I like this one so much is that I can see comrade-in-arms backstory with Fury playing out in the present. (Sometimes I get tired of all the emotionless Fury. This one makes me believe they fought together for a long time.)
Frankie Says Relax, by
kellifer_fic, The Avengers, Clint/Darcy, Teen, ~4800 words === Darcy takes care of the little things for the team, even Clint (finally.) Zippy and fun w/o being over the top.
