...and ohhhhhhhh did *that* make me want to ignore ITD even more than I already do and write a Kirk/Pike-on-leave-at-Yorktown sequel to Shining On The Quay.

I am retroactively amused by the first trailer now.

Also, also, I did get more than a little choked up a couple of times, for reals.

Me too with the choking up. R spent a long time telling me how silly it was, but I didn't care--I loved it.

Yeah, D was at the other end of the row so all of his eye-rolling got filtered through the kids (who were super-happy to pass along that Mom was sniffling.)

It always gives me a good feeling to read that there are others like me who prefer to believe the second movie never happened

Watching Star Trek Beyond is an all-encompassing experience that every Trek fan should have.

P.S. I am a huge fan of shining on The Quay certainly would not object 2 an update

I'm pretty sure they were ignoring it in this actual script so I think it's canon now that ITD didn't ever happen!

If my brain would stop skittering around I could totally write a sequel with this, but that's a big 'if' these days.

This one is about a thousand times better than ITD. Sooooo much better!
