For [livejournal.com profile] unholyglee's birthday...

When Sam told Dean about leaving, he swore it wasn't about them. Stanford was just something he had to do. Dean nodded, mostly to shut the kid up. There was nothing right or healthy about the two of them; Dean knew Sam was smart enough to have figured that out.

Jess was pretty, smart, and had eyes for nobody but Sam--meeting her didn't do a thing to change Dean's mind.

Sam is smart, though; he knows that nothing gets Dean's attention faster than a hand high on his thigh, that Dean's favorite kink is getting blown by the side of the road, front seat pushed all the way back, that he's missed Sam sliding slickhardhot inside him so bad it's like a part of him died.

Mostly, Sam's smart enough to have the biggest cup of take-out coffee he can find waiting when Dean wakes up and smart enough to leave him alone to drink it before he ambushes Dean in the car.

"I told you it wasn't about this."

Dean always says he can deal with anything with enough caffeine in his system. He guesses reaching over and pulling Sam in for a hard kiss proves it.
