yay friday
Okay, weirdness on my phone browser has led to even less time than usual to engage with LJ, so sorry for any belated comments or answers to same.
Stuff that I've been saving up all week to post:
The news out of Skywalker Ranch and Hyperion Street has led to mass, feverish speculation here at the HoB. We are somewhat in agreement that for all that we'd looooove to see the Thrawn trilogy play out on the big screen, we're not all that excited to recast all the main parts (tho Hugo Weaving would make an awesome Grand Admiral.) And, as #2 has pointed out, Emma Watson already looks like the love child of Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher, so we could go for something set 20+ years in the future.
Related to the above point, I found my videotape of the original, unaltered movie (from way back when it was just called Star Wars, no episode titles attached. Also, Han shot first.) We are contemplating a marathon rewatch in what geekdom has determined to be the appropriate order (4-5-2-3-6). Oldest is home from school this weekend (so he can vote early today as he (surprise!) did not start the absentee ballot process early enough to ensure it could be received and counted) so said marathon could actually start this weekend. Who knew I'd still be watching these 35 years later?
I confess to y'all: I did indeed buy a BluRay player for the Avengers extras. (At least it was on sale and amazon shipped it for free?) We'll probably do those this weekend, too. Also, Wreck It Ralph.
If anyone is addicted to butterLondon nail polish, drop me a comment -- I have a 30% off code for you.

Also, Hugo Weaving would be perfect for Thrawn.

And yep yep yep, Han shot first. :-D

We had this involved discussion in the car Thurs night (as you do), all about how Han was Chaotic Good & that's why they changed that scene but I think it was successfully argued (by me!) that no, the scene in question *defines* Han & it would have been much better to address how he moved from shooting first to staying & fighting, rather than just rewriting history. *koff* Not that I've spent a lot of time thinking about it or anything...

I am horribly addicted to nail polish. I have been staring at ButterLondon's website since coming upon your post. Sadly, I cannot afford their polish even with the discount, so I will just continue staring. lol

And I almost wish I never found butterLondon, except that they have the most perfect deep green polish, the color I'd been looking for for *years* (true hunter green, like the British National Racing team's colors). God alone knows why I craved that particular color but it was impossible to find until BL came along and now I am on their mailing lists and tempted several times a month.
