Everything lately has been happening at the last second: got Oldest & the GF to early voting about 20 min before it closed for good last Friday; got him in the door about 5 minutes before closing on Sunday to get his hair cut; orchestrated a last-second upload of #2's latest history paper on Sunday night (after getting Oldest back to campus from the mad-dash-home-to-vote weekend); was the last order of the night last night at our little neighborhood bar for dinner (wings and fries at midnight was so not what I needed but omg, starving.)

Today is better: we've already voted and I'm thinking about tonight's dinner now.

My mom fell on Sunday at a church festival and broke her elbow in two places and her wrist in another, sigh. This is so not what she needs, especially if they have to operate on the elbow. She sounds fairly good, though, and goddess knows she already has a full home healthcare medical team in place.

Closing on a good note: I've managed to make my word count every day so far for

mini_wrimo and I am possibly finally teasing a real Hawkeye/Black Widow story out of my head, which I have been wanting to do since May. shhhh, don't scare it...

yay early is good even if it's 1 minute. i take what i can get i'm always late the older i get, before i moved to FL i was on time for everything. i say i live on Florida time not island time lol. anyway wings are always good :) sorry about mom i hope she's doing well. good luck on writing.

We were cutting even closer than we usually do there for about a week, but we seem to be back to our normal late-but-not-too-late style. And thank you for the good thoughts for my mom; she is going to need surgery, so that's always a complication.

So sorry to hear about your Mom's fall. Over the past year my Mom has fallen twice and the first time broke her elbow, the second time the wrist and they are two of the most painful breaks. I wish her well on her recovery. That's great that she has good healthcare in place. Take care!

Thank you--she's getting set for surgery, probably early next week, so I'm crossing fingers and holding my breath that everything goes well.
