some things never die

I'm sort of watching SPN sporadically this year, but goddammit, the stupid show still makes me cry. That shouldn't be happening after 8 seasons. Which is to say, yes, I watched Pac Man Fever while I was waiting around for the exterminator this morning and am now trying to fix my mascara before I actually go into the office.

Fangirl Life: not always fun and games, yeah?

I bought a season pass for SPN S8 on Amazon streaming this year -- first time I've done that for a show in production; I've bought a few on iTunes, but I actually *like* Amazon streaming service, so decided to go that way for SPN S8.

(I dunno; I'm still groping around for the Ultimate Solution to all of this.)

Anyway, Amazon keeps faking me out, because they'll send me an email with subject line, "Your purchase of 'Pac Man Fever'," or whatever -- just the name of the episode in the subject line, not, "Supernatural: Pac man Fever."

And I'll have this moment of panic, like, "I DIDN'T BUY ANYTHING CALLED 'PAC MAN FEVER'! OMG! MY ACCOUNT'S BEEN COMPROMISED!" and only after I look a little closer can I see what it is and calm down. Heh.

Happens. every. time.

I think this season has been good in sporadic bursts. The stuff between the brothers is always best, they are more talkative this season and I've been loving it. The change in Dean has been welcome, he's more relaxed, more open to discussion (well at least after the halfway point).

Felicia Day is always awesome and her Star Wars quotes perfect. :) the writes have put Sam and Dean in nasty situations before, but with this one we don't know what the cost is, we have no idea what will happen to Sam at the conclusion of the Trials. I fear tears will happen. :P

It's all fun and games until the eye makeup gets messed up. I was all he is so not going to say "I know." Hah!

Me too with the crying. And there is to be a season 9, I believe.

And they had such timing--all three of them playing off each other perfectly. That I love you/I know... so many layers there. I held it together then, but the very end killed me.

There was the (EXTREEEEEEEME) goodness of Dean in that gorgeous 50s era working dress uniform, but oy, the emotions in this one.

Also, dear lord, Jensen just keeps getting better-looking. I have no idea how that continues to be true, but it is.

I think that was the best episode since perhaps season 2. Okay, I'd probably watch Mystery Spot on (ha!) endless loop, but that's a special case.

I will admit, I cued it up because I'd seen a couple photo sets of Jensen in uniform go by on my tumblr dash and hey, Monday morning needs all the help it can get, but yeah, that was a *fantastic* episode. And Jensen continues to increase in hotness. Surely we must be reaching some kind of outer limit, no?

Clearly the people from his planet operate on a different scale. If the earth eventually explodes as a result... well, we've all gotta go sometime, don't we?

so, based on your post here, I watched it--only the second episode of S8 I've seen--and oh, you are so right! plus canon mother-hen!Dean. So happy-making, in a teary kind of way.

It was! When she pulled out that battered and obviously much-loved book out of her backpack I got all emotional. The boys (of course) made fun of me, but still.

And mother-hen!Dean is the best.
