We had 5 different dinner reservations but then we found a little bar tucked behind the bandstand at the Grand Floridian & we've been here since it opened. There are balloons waiting to be dropped at the appropriate time. Very exciting!
We had a dozen of the glowing cubes that we carried around and added to our glasses during the week but they were best here, because the bar was dim. Our corner glowed. :D
We had dinner reservations and nice clothes and shoes and jewelry, but then the chairs here were tall-backed and super-comfortable and there was a band playing nice music (and a pianist when the band took breaks) and a waitress who could produce almost anything we wanted (and who looked the other way when what the teenage behemoth boys wanted burgers and onion rings from a different restaurant) so we ended up blowing off all our other plans and making our own party in the corner. And then there were fireworks w/o the crowds, which was even better!
Holy crap, it was crowded! We did not even get near a park before midnight until yesterday (1/1) when it was cold and rainy and Toy Story Mania still had 120 min waits!
We found the lounge on the 2nd floor of the GF and did not leave! We had our corner and a lovely waitress and we went out and danced a bit to the band, but we canceled our dinner reservations at the Wave and stayed put until ll:30, when we settled our tab and made our way down to the marina to watch the MK fireworks, which were stellar! I don't think I would have enjoyed them nearly as much if I'd spent the day battling the crowds across the lagoon, though. I think they closed MK to new guests before noon! I don't even want to imagine how packed it must have been. (We hit MK on Mon night at midnight and there were still 70 minute waits for Space. crazy!)
