friiiiiday

The clouds went away yesterday and the sun has been glorious ever since. The rain washed down a lot of the pollen and the humidity is low. Summer can be ungodly around here, but right now I love the climate. I am contemplating nail polish colors as it is still a bit too early for the happy, bright blue of my standard summer pedicure, but there definitely needs to be something sunshiny and spring-y on my toes this weekend.

In other happy-making news, I signed up for [livejournal.com profile] marvel_bang again this year. I signed up solo, as I don't really know any artists who are into Marvel, but I'm sure it will turn out just fine. It always does (and sometimes quite a bit better than fine.) I've been kicking around a Clint/Darcy that follows the actual canon, since I was just making things up for rolling stone -- I think that's what I'm going for here. We'll see...

Yay! Clint/Darcy marvel_bang!! Can't wait, and happy to cheerlead!

I signed up too, together with [livejournal.com profile] inkvoices who did such a fantastic job on my piece last year. We're actually doing a sequel for that one, another Avengers/Bond crossover, this one post-New York but pre-Greenwich and pre-Triskelion. Unlike the first one, which was still (vaguely) defensible as taking place in the MI-6 universe, Bond will find himself in their frame of reference, with truly weird shit going down.

ETA: Kidlet and I have booked our spring pedis for tomorrow morning. The joys of having a daughter! :-)

Oh, supercool! I know you have a lot on your plate this summer, but this is excellent news! I can't wait to see what you drag Bond into now (do Moneypenny and Q come along? ::crosses fingers and hopes hard::)

During Beach Week, my friend's teenage daughters do pedicures for everyone, which is lovely, but just about the only time I have company for these sorts of things. The boys have learned not to fuss at me when I'm perusing new colors, though, so at least there's that. :D
