the 70s are everywhere

I went outlet shopping on the Fourth (which is totally not my usual thing, but I was near some normally out-of-the-way outlets) and ended up at the Lucky store, where there was the usual complement of faux 70s hippie shirts & jeans (and I bought a pair or two.)

And then the look was everywhere I turned...

  • JLaw and her super-fab wardrobe in X-Men:DOFP, which I finally saw over the weekend (ohhh, that coat, the long one, with the fur collar? I had one of those back in the day--it was my favorite coat EVER. I want it now.)

  • Olivia Wilde and her even more super-fab wardrobe in Rush, which I watched on DVD with assorted boys, who were in it totally for the Formula 1 stuff but they held up ok with me flailing at the clothes (OW was playing Suzy Miller, so her clothes were extra-trendy.) She had a fur-collared maxi-coat, too.

  • and then we ended up meeting some friends at the Rusty Nail, which hasn't touched their decor / menu / atmosphere since the 70s. The music in the jukebox is all from then, too.

I feel like I should add a few Pam Grier movies to my netflix queue...

All her little midriff-baring shirts and those hats and the dresses and the bell-bottoms! JL wore them all so well. :D

I love the 70s look! Every time I watch Starsky&Hutch I get envious of their many many awesome leather jackets :)
(Even though I have a few similar ones myself but still...)

Oh, they have such fabulous shirts, too--the silky ones in the mod patterns with the extra-long sleeves. Fashion got so boring after the 70s!
