random posting #1
Since it's Super Bowl Sunday + D&D day, I'm banging about in the kitchen, forcibly limiting myself to nachos and wings (instead of doing potato skins, fried mozzarella, and pizza (all from scratch) in addition.) The boys are fine with this, but my word, my own brain is like a hamster on crack sometimes and keeps whispering about how MOAR is better. I'm trying to counter with how I'll still be cleaning up the kitchen next Sunday if I don't set some limits, but it still feels like wimping out, you know?
(Actually, you probably *don't* know, because I'm going to assume you're sensible people who are not fighting off the demons of Never-Being-Good-Enough and thus do not go overboard and over-compensate at every chance.)
I'm bribing that part of my brain with multiple sauces for the wings and having both beef and veggie nachos. Don't laugh, at least it's all more-or-less dirtying the same set of dishes/pans.
In compensation for reading through my brain weasel issues, here's a pretty decent baked (rather than fried) wing recipe with 2 sauces (I use Trader Joe's lemon pepper seasoning for the third flavor):
Crispy Baked Chicken Wings
Also, Costco has organic wings, already separated. Sooo much easier.

P.S. (and yes, I know those demons of Never-Being-Good-Enough all too well!)
