yay it's not summer-hot and a try at Sunday Six

The weather finally broke--it was 97°/36° on Friday, and then 77°/25° yesterday, and a little cooler today. It's cloudy, but it's so nice to have the windows open finally. We might be able to eat out on the deck tonight, too. It turns out the Braves playoff game was going on right in the middle of dinner so nobody here was going to sit out and see if the mosquitos were calmer when they could be yelling at the baseball game.

Maybe tomorrow.

So, okay, Sunday Six... I haven't done this in years, but with all the health-related madness, I need some kind of a routine to remind myself that it's okay to spend time on things that I enjoy, that aren't work- or house- or doctor-related. (Or that build my 'personal brand', sigh.)

This is part of a sequel to the last thing I wrote, the Star Trek Discovery post-S2 Pike/Tyler. (My file name is relationships are haaaard in space, subtitled chris pike brings teh draamaaa, *koff*) I wrote this specific part about 10 minutes ago and I'm not sure where exactly it's going to fit, but that's about how the entire story is going... 8k words (so far) of little pieces that are somehow fitting together.

The cloudy, hazy mornings quickly become Chris' favorites. The haze burns off quickly enough, especially once the second sun rises, but that little bit of extra cocooning, soft light is enough to keep them in bed for the start of the day. It's usually cooler on those mornings, too, and they stay wrapped around each other even after they're both awake. It's not all that much of a surprise that the first time they have sex is on one of those mornings. Chris thinks they both have been moving slowly partly because they're both still exhausted and ground down by the last year, but also because for everything that's happened, the last time they'd actually had sex had been while they were still furious with each other. He knows he's not eager to have any of that atmosphere here with them now, and he's fairly sure Ash is on the same page.
