writing and Thursday rec
I took a writing class over the weekend that was really good: practical without being didactic, inspiring without being woo-woo, and just generally really supportive. While we were having technical difficulties, I started going through all my files on g-docs and y'know, things that have been languishing there for years b/c I got distracted or couldn't figure out what was next or just didn't have time to deal with suddenly look do-able. It's all over the place -- 2 original novels, a bunch of fic from all kind of fandoms past and present (H50, MCU, ST:AOS, ST:Disco, etc.) I've been been poking at them this week and several thousand words have bubbled up, which hasn't happened in a long, long time.
So, I don't know... maybe for NaNo this year, I just see how much I can work through on all of them?
Is
mini_wrimo a thing this year? I should go check...
For a Thursday rec, have this awesome Chris Pike/Sylvia Tilly from Star Trek: Discovery fic that I stumbled over and inhaled this past weekend -- Delta Function, that is not only post-canon and canon compliant, but also solves the 'There is no way Christopher Pike seduces (or allows himself to be seduced by) an ensign serving under his command' fic-writing conundrum to their otherwise delightful on-screen interaction. Spoilers for basically everything that happened in S2.
(Thank goodness this exists, b/c see above re: so many things to write and my brain has been insisting that I was going to have to write more-or-less this exact scenario to get the jonesing out of my head. I mean, I'm all for quickies in the captain's chair, but, yeah, nfw was that happening with this pair so that fic itch wasn't getting scratched until I got to this one.)

I also like the Write Every Day thing that's hosted in different journals from month to month, but it's not as structured.
Maybe we can do a little informal one? Just kind of put it out on our feeds and encourage each other?
I can't see why not.

Buty that's great you've had those bubbling words.
