topaz119: Screen cap from a low angle looking up at Clint Barton holding a bow from the Fraction/Aja 2012 Hawkeye comic (hawkguy)

just when you think you might break away...

Wow, so between Renner and his gray t-shirt and his love for the character, and the Barton brothers in Hawkeye 19, I am once again virtually drowning in ALL THE FEELS for a certain purple-loving archer. I sure as hell hope welovefine is bringing Hawkeye t-shirts to DragonCon, because I think that needs to be my attire of choice this year.

Renner is looking mighty fine!

YES.

You don't have to wait for DragonCon -- I ordered all of my severalHawkeye shirts on line ...

PS: Jeremy Renner should not be allowed to EVER wear anything other than black leather, grey t-shirts and the occasional tux.

I would absolutely buy online, but I ordered a Captain Marvel shirt on the 19th & it only just shipped today, so I'm not sure I'd get it by DC. And I really really want to wear it there, among My People. I figure I'll be wearing the CM shirt on Friday, because there's a Carol Corps meet-up, and I'll hit the vendor floor(s) as soon at opening and then I'll be set for the rest of the con.

As for JR, there's also that dark gray suit, with the dark gray dress shirt, no tie. He's allowed to wear that, too. ::nods::

Since this seems to be an emergency, if you're my size, I'd be happy to FedEx you mine as loaners -- I have (ahem) three, all medium (actually the Clint/Natasha one should be small).

Oh, you are too, too kind, but no, I have shoulders like a linebacker and the curves to balance them out. I was just looking at the Clint/Natasha shirt online, too... (the kawaii one, right? too cute!)

You can fedex them to me! Just a warning, they won't be returned. ;)

I think I'm the only person in fandom that didn't really like that shot--not that I have anything against the concept, mind you! I just thought it looked a little too staged, especially since the rest of the shots looked so real.

Are you talking about the one in the chair? I didn't like that either. I did like this one though

Yeah, it is! But those come quite small, at least in the women's sizes. Mine, until I drop what I gained back last year, is ... tight.

The Hawkeye selection at the Ottawa ComicCon was pathetic, but they didn't have WeLoveFine.

I triple-checked and wlf is on the vendor list, so I'm crossing my fingers that they'll have what I want in a size that works.

I haven't read this Hawkeye (or any Hawkeye...or any comic other than Archie), but I have always had a soft spot for Barney so I REALLY want to read this issue. Or at least have someone tell me how it ends (hint hint).

[identity profile] topaz119.livejournal.com 2014-08-02 04:14 pm (UTC)(link)
oh, hah, I actually was thinking of you as I read this! Barney is pretty awesome in it.

Okay, so the last time we saw Clint, Barney had arrived needing a place to stay for unspecified but Barney-esque reasons. So, he's around when the Tracksuit Mafia really start coming after Clint and he doesn't hesitate to back up his little brother, which leaves him bleeding out next to Clint on the floor of the apartment lobby.

Pertinent panels here (http://scans-daily.dreamwidth.org/4654509.html), at [community profile] scans_daily.

So, then we had to wait, and wait, and waaaaaait for what happened next, which was finally released this week, and Clint's deaf and Barney's in a wheelchair. Barney is trying desperately trying to get Clint to re-engage (in a completely Barney way that includes calling Clint an ass at the top of his lungs out in the hallway where Simone's kids can hear, which she is less than pleased with.) There's a set of flashbacks to when they were kids and Clint's hearing was damaged (with heavy allusions that it's from being knocked around by their dad, who looks very much like Barney does now, sadly enough.) Clint finally decides that enough is enough and signs this great speech (that Barney interprets) and then the Barton brothers go find "a little trouble" and Clint (with Barney's assistance/prodding) actually asks for help.

Final panels here (http://rcgers.tumblr.com/post/93319336490/we-went-out-and-found-a-little-trouble)

I can't wait for the next issue!

Oh awesome!!! Thanks for the recap!! I hope Barney doesn't end up screwing Clint over again. If he does, I'll still love him though, haha.

How many more issues are left?
