so here we are
On Tuesday, I did the super-adult thing & scheduled a bunch of medical appointments for me, which is a necessary thing but which I’m not looking forward to. The least annoying is an eye exam coming up on Friday, so at least I can get new glasses. I’ve had these for 3 years & they’re kind of hanging on by a thread.
BabyBoy is back up at his school apartment & the other kids are off with their D&D crew at the beach so it’s just D & I at home this weekend. We kicked off this mini staycation by going & getting take-out from this little meat-and-three place on Main Street. They’ve been there since 1955 & started a curbside pick-up during the pandemic. It was packed tonight, with cars circling the block trying to pull into the parking lot, but we listened to the Braves game (they’re getting stomped, sadly) & duly emerged victorious with fried chicken & pecan pie & sweet tea.
In fannish news, it appears that I’m falling into a post-TFATWS Bucky Barnes-shaped fic spiral. Not only do I have the Darcy/Bucky that’s about to crack 20k words & is barely half-done, but there’s also a Sam/Bucky that’s probably looking at 10k once I get through the sex. And then I ended up writing a thousand words ON MY PHONE of a Sharon/Bucky this-isn’t-going-to-end-well 5 Times draft, complete with the sequel outline where I’m trying to figure out how to fix things/redeem Sharon. Oh, and there’s a sequel to the Cap/Darcy I finished in the spring where Natasha & Bucky are hassling each other about their tragic lack of game with their choice of partners (Clint & Sarah, respectively.)
It’s a good thing I don’t have anything else going on in my life, like a full-time job & the 2nd job of caretaking D, yeah?
I was going to update you on my books, but this is long enough as it is, so I’ll catch y’all next Wednesday with that.
Ciao, bellezze!

no subject
I’m taking the advice to not think of the writing as a side-hustle & just going with whatever strikes my fancy & apparently the cleaned-up Bucky from TFATWS is it!
