I can’t wait for March to end

So, this month has just been a wash. The anniversary of D‘s passing was earlier this week, and the lead-up was just no fun. Mentally, I would’ve said I was doing fine, but I was so tense that everything hurt, all the time. Somewhere in there, I strained a muscle in my leg and have been limping around for weeks. Sitting has been aggravating it so I’m literally working in 20 minute increments and then trying not to be obvious at how little weight I wanted to put on it while knowing at the same time that stretching it out and loosening it up was really what was making it even a little bit better. I started doing some stretches and squats and paying attention to it and It’s eased off now and it only gets me if I don’t move for more than an hour, so that’s a little progress.

Last year, I took the whole week off around the anniversary; this year, I put in for half of this week off. I don’t know whether that helped or whether it’s just that we got past the day, but I feel a lot better. At the very least, my shoulders aren’t knotted up to the point where I could feel how long it took to relax when I got into bed.

We (me + kids) went to see Dune 2 in IMAX the first week it was out, which is a very normal, nice thing for our family. That, and Oldest’s birthday and *NSYNC on stage together are really about the only good things for this month. For the birthday, BabyBoy made these crazy good s’mores cookies, like a snickerdoodle only rolled in graham cracker sugar and then topped with homemade marshmallows that he broiled after the cookies were baked. So good, so rich.

I really haven’t even read anything for weeks, but a bunch of light romances came in on my library hold list so hopefully i’ll get back in to the rhythm of reading. Also, hopefully now that we’ve passed the anniversary, random anime and reality TV episodes will not make me choke up, so I can probably get back into watching some things too. Alsoalso, we do have a trip planned to Disney World, just me and the kids and my brother. We’re staying at the Wilderness Lodge because I found a semi-OK deal so that it’s not a mind-boggling amount of money. Not that it’s cheap, mind you, but it’s at least somewhat discounted. I’m looking forward to that.
