Daily December --> January: plot bunnies and me

Talk about a plot bunny I love but will probably never write. (Any fandom) (for [livejournal.com profile] brandywine28)

So. The thing is: I *hate* to give up on an idea. I keep it around and poke at it and poke at it and poke at it, and even after I've migrated fandoms, I still like to look at the bones of the idea and see how it might translate to different characters. I have files for every fandom I've ever written in, going all the way back to the X-Files and Buffy. Most of those are terrible ideas, though. I keep thinking about deleting them, but then I look at them every so often and realize how much better I've gotten at story-telling. It's helpful in the dark winter days.

So, for this post, I'm only looking at the really old files that I still feel love for, and one that I love the most is from the J2 days, one that I kept trying to get in the Disney prompt challenge (the RPF one, not the SPN one), which can be summed up by just saying "Misha Poppins."

No, really--the Js are together and have a loud and rambunctious family that runs through nannies like crazy until one day, the Santa Anas blow Misha to their doorstep and mayhem ensues. I never quite worked out who Bert might have been, and I really didn't ever get much plotting done aside from some hand-waving of and then there was [possibly] metaphorical kite-flying, but I really still do love the idea (and Misha's 'Cooking with West' videos certainly didn't discourage me.)

Ahahaha, Misha Poppins is too funny! I can see why it still entices you, even though it isn't fleshed out too much.

Aw. There's just something about hearing the details of Fics Never To Be. Something that makes me shed a single, wistful tear. (I love shedding single, wistful tears.)

Do I even need to tell you that I mourn for this story? Not only 'cos it sounds intensely awesome, but also 'cos I feel like it could've been a great learning opportunity! I feel like it takes a special kind of talent to slashify the less princess-y Disney films and I'm totally curious now about how it all would've come together!

I admire your dedication to meme-finishing, btw. :)

I kind of heard it from a bemused Jensen's POV, and every time he came back home, his kids would be in the middle of some elaborate, creative project and the new nanny-dude would give him a very unimpressed, your-job-is-killing-your-soul look, which sort of offends him except it's true and ... well, I didn't really work out much more, but I did love the concept.

At least the old meme gives me a topic to talk about--otherwise I'd be moaning on about how much I hate the winter, which is just boring. :D
