happy tax day (or, at least the u.s., non-extension-filing version)

We, of course, are filing an extension, because someone who will remain nameless, but could be the shorter, baseball-coaching brother of Eric Taylor from Friday Night Lights, has yet to get me their mileage for said baseball-coaching-activities, and since they got paid on a 1099, there is no way in hell I'm filing without those deductions.

The real world has not been particularly enjoyable lately -- someday, I'm going to crack and start an extended rant about the school system and how it is failing *everyone*, but for right now, I'm just self-medicating with the pre-movie Avengers festivities. It (the self-medicating part) has gotten involved enough that I have multiple tags on tumblr to keep track of it -- this press tour, y'all covers interviews and shenanigans, while yay, red carpet! is for the premiere(s) (hopefully they will trundle around the world like they did last time and I will have multiple red carpets to enjoy.) I know you'll all be shocked to find lots of Renner in both.

Everything else is pretty much a no-go from all the emotional dreck (even BabyBoy, who is usually my happy, sunny kid, is in some sort of extended break-up/get-back-together/break-up-again cycle with his girlfriend and is therefore all wooooooooooooooe is me.)

I forgot that tax time loometh, so this past weekend was all about the details of that, but I really am eyeing this weekend for a baking extravaganza. Momofuku Milk Bar came in at the library, so I am going for the completely non-practical stuff.

I hope things improve soon. I had to file my taxes late- lost one of my W-2s. Sigh. Sometimes I wish I was more organized.

I can't wait for AoU!!

Ah, tax time. Our deadline loometh Apr 30. At least this year I only have to do 2 returns - last year I found out that while I had completed 2013, I hadn't actually MAILED it... plus, hubby hadn't done his at all in 2 years, so there was some groveling to be done. Luckily they only penalize you if you owe them! Plus, I learned how to cope with the electronic filing, which eliminates the calculating and gets you any refund 3 weeks sooner. Enjoy!

Not owing is our saving grace with extensions, because I have been filing them more often than not the past few years, in part because the people who pay D for coaching don't ever seem to get their forms out in a timely manner, which is not supposed to happen but always seems to.

It's really all the little side gigs we have that complicates our taxes. D's mileage is really the killer, because I haven't yet gotten him to put all his games/practices/clinics onto a calendar that I can access, so I am always waiting on that. And it doesn't help that he's right in the thick of this year's season and has stuff happening every day.

I extensioned for the first time ever this year! (Because I've been slow, and I need to finish them in one country before I finish them in another country. I though doing split states was hard back in the day when I did them by hand before teh whole TaxAct/TaxPro/etc world. But, yeah, it took me an hour to figure out the answer to the first question. So I have people doing it. :)

We occasionally get the 2 state thing (sometimes there are camps/clinics the next state over) but I do not want to think about 2 countries! I'd be having someone do them, too!

Momofuku! If you decide to make their crack pie, you might wanna keep an insulin drip at the ready just in case! :)

I think we're going with the cinnamon roll pie to start, but the crack pie is on the short list!
