#readathon (hour 16.5)

Started/Finished A Bollywood Affair (which I think might be my favorite romance of the year, and that's with having gone through a fair amount of Courtney Milan's backlist, too)

Also, finished The Shadow Cabinet, which is #3 of the Shades of London series, which I didn't dislike, but is my least favorite book of the day, so far.

Tiiiiired now, but going for whatever Captain Marvel is on Marvel Unlimited before I crash for the night.

You are doing way better than me! I finished up two I had half done and read a third, and I've started a fourth, but man, I am so easily distracted. SQUIRREL.

I'm sort of amazed at how easily I got distracted, too. I had to keep pointing myself back at the books (and I wasn't even being distracted by fun stuff! So sad.) I'd say that next time I should go somewhere else to do this, but then I'd have to get dressed, which is a giant NO.

I have Shadow Cabinet in my stack...what did you think of the other two books in the series? I thought the first was just insanely good but I spent all of the second just kind of going...huh? What?!?!

I thought the first book was really well-done, too -- I think it was how compelling the Ripper plot was. This one... it answers some of the questions that got raised in the 2nd book, but there are still lots of unknown things. Having to wait a year in between isn't helping, either. All three books run together--this one starts immediately after the second--but we're not reading them that way, which is difficult. I think I'll wait until she finishes the arc, because I'm certainly not going to reread the previous books before I read the next in line. I'm not even doing that for Game of Thrones.

Yes, exactly.

Remember when one book was an entire plot? And a sequel was a whole separate plot? I am so over this trilogy trend. Especially for stories that would be great as one or two books but instead get watered down over three or four. UGH. *shakes fist*
