Friday is The Day
There is so much going on here, but by Friday, it will be all wrapped up, just in time for school to start on Monday. Y'all, this weekend is going to be nothing but frivolity.

femmeremix story posted (about 10 minutes before the deadline last night) and then went back and fiddled with it some today, but I am actually pretty happy with it, \o/. And I'm still happy with what I wrote for the ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-community.gif)
be_compromised AU exchange (Viridian Skies), mostly because steampunk! After all these years of boots and corsets and green wigs/lipstick and goggle headbands, I finally actually wrote some. (So that was fun, though I wish I'd had more time...
I really wanted to work in some bio-mechanical aspects, but the thought of trying to write the nuances of that under the deadline was really daunting, so I just sort of implied it having happened with Coulson. And then skipped off. I think it could have upped the alternate-history quotient, as it was, the setting was mostly semi-Victorian with a little gloss of steam. The airships were tons of fun and the 'aether lights' dropped in so easily I couldn't resist hanging the story on them. So, for the next time, I will pay more attention to how mechanical enhancements fit within a biological world, how they change things, how people (and other, more mechanical beings) are changed by them.
Also, bonus points (or a drabble of your choice) to anyone who sees the Easter eggs my brain kept embedding.
Oh! and I have to point you to my gift story, A Different Truth Between Us, which is (as the author says) the X-Files AU you never knew you needed. :D Reading it brought back all kinds of happy fandom memories.
