[fic] The Physicist and the Assassin, Avengers | MCU, Bruce/Clint, NC-17

Title: The Physicist and the Assassin
Fandom: Avengers (MCU)
Pairing/Characters: Bruce Banner/Clint Barton, Natasha Romanoff
Length: ~19,300 words
Rating: Explicit
Notes: This started out fluffy for my [community profile] cottoncandy_bingo prompt pretending to be a couple, took a turn into protectiveness, and then decided what it really needed was some non-fade-to-black sex.

Summary: It wasn't going to top anyone's list of good ideas, but since that tended to happen fairly frequently--them being stuck with really lousy choices--nobody wasted too much time on arguing.

I hope you like it! They were fun to play around with.

So, I don't read a lot of slash -- don't look for it, only read it when I come across an author I like. (I have no issues with slash in principle, but so much of what's out there is OOC, that I just can't be bothered playing the odds with my limited reading time). I read this, though, because it was YOU, and that proved to be a most excellent decision. Really, really well done, totally in character for both -- an hour well spent.

And then this line: "it was more about just being in the same space, about trusting and being trusted and whatever else was tempted to come crawling out from under all the baggage both of them were dragging along behind them." Heaven.

Thank you.

Thanks so much! I seem to be working my way through all the available variations of Hawkeye pairings and these two definitely had more in common than I thought when I started. I'm glad I managed to get that out of my head and onto the page/screen.
