topaz119: (it was a dark and stormy night)

(no subject)

ISTG, I just wanted to write a simple Joe/Nicky PWP. Possibly with a few tasteful curtains somewhere on the Mediterranean. My brain is currently 5000 words into an exploration of varying anger management techniques. No sex in sight. And they're still in London.

::sighs::

In other random media news, Oldest and I watched Enola Holmes, which we enjoyed greatly.

I honestly did not expect to be whammied with a cottage-core aesthetic, but it was charming enough that I shushed all mention of the viability of an open-roofed tree house in the English countryside. Much less one that was a secret on an estate with a gazillion gardeners. (Perhaps they came running to cover everything during the rainstorms?) Also, unexpected was the reverse-My-Fair-Lady-vibe, what with the adorable marquess as the Covent Garden flower girl.

And seriously, Henry Cavill has never been on my radar, but now this is two in a row of him being unexpectedly appealing (and in roles that really don't appeal to me on paper.)

Oldest was a little disappointed that Mama Holmes didn't get to blow anything up (and we had a laugh about how casting HBC meant we were never sure if she *wasn't* going to come charging out of the shadows and bring down Parliament.) Also, holy crap, Burn Gorham was a little too scary in his murderbot ways.

Otherwise, I would be happy to watch the further adventures of Miss Holmes and the rest of her family. (Seriously, she needs to marry the marquess and firmly snub Mycroft with her vastly elevated social status. After another decade or so.)

Your brain is an amazing thing.

I've seen a lot of people mention Enola Holmes, I think I'll give it a go. Though am bemused at the open-roofed treehouse.
