random notes from under the covers

ugh, I have cold (not the flu, just a cold, thank goodness.) I'm self-medicating with tea and Austen adaptations (S&S for some lovely Rickman-Brandon and then Persuasion for a little RPJ-Wentworth drama. I may possibly shift over to the Brontes, but only for Tom Hardy's Heathcliff. This is all [livejournal.com profile] powrhug's fault, btw. She needed new Brit series and my brain went, ooooo, we haven't watched any of *that* in a while...) We got a wee dusting of snow overnight, but not even enough to freak out the Southerners. It's cold and windy, though, so I am helping the furnace along with some baking and pizza-making.

On twitter, [livejournal.com profile] withdiamonds linked to the Hogwarts Running Club, and I somehow ended up registered for the Molly Weasley Ugly Jumper 5K. I guess my brain decided that a goofy medal was a worthy reward for my last few months on the treadmill?

Due to one of those long, random sessions on the internet, where you start out looking for recipes and end up an hour later reading podcast reviews, I stumbled across Story and Star Wars, which has been vastly entertaining over the last few days of commuting. (Seriously, anyone who can spend a solid 10 minutes waxing rhapsodic over "I love you" / "I know" in intellectual, geeky glee is one of My People.)

Stay warm and safe, y'all!

That running club looks fun.

Feel better soon!

Just recently watched Persuasion too! Well, [personal profile] saba1789 made me watch it. Such a hardship. Anyway, it was so good! All the pining. <3

Feel better soon!

Hope you feel better very soon. Colds are bad enough, but to be dahn 'n' aht on the weekend is particularly sucky.

Thanks for the link to the podcast. It'll be the background to the conclusion of my closet cleaning adventure tomorrow morning. Thank goodness because my background has been Jessica Jones on Netflix -- which explains why this chore has dragged on far longer than it should have (I do more sitting on the bed watching the TV than I do cleaning the closet…).

:)

At least I can sleep for as long as I want!

I hope you like Alistair and his story-wonk take on Star Wars, or that it at least helps you get through your closet a little less painlessly!

Sad to see Rickman in anything, now. He did look very well in period costume, though. but after reading a ton of Inception fic lately, my head can't process Tom Hardy as anything except Eames.

Get well! Ginger tea is good for colds.

I love Alan as Col Brandon--he's sooooo restrained and he makes it so easy to overlook him right up until he steps in with all his competence and helps save the day. ::happy sigh::

Fandom really went to town with Eames, didn't they? I love how much fun everyone had fleshing out that character. TH is about the only way I can watch Heathcliff--he makes that character human and bearable (I still can't call it a romance, but at least it's a fascinating character study?)

Feel better, Missy! I cough and hack in solidarity from the left coast under my own covers, with the BBC P&P miniseries and ALL the chamomile vanilla honey tea. And thank you for the podcast link, which is going to make this morning survivable.

ugh, I am sorry to hear you have your own version of this nastiness. I do hope you enjoy Alistair and his story-based take on Star Wars. I found myself saying "THANK YOU" several times during the first episode as he made a particularly sane statement or another.
