I swear I thought I was going to update more often, but obviously that hasn't happened. Let's just say the frenetic/tedious cycles of this pandemic continue on and leave it at that for RL here at the HoB.
I posted on Monday with the whole, giant omgFINISHED Star Trek: Discovery Pike/Tilly fic, which is basically where nearly all of my discretionary time has gone, which has been a good focus for my doomscrolling brain during all of this ::gestures at the world:: But now, I'm in that sort of hangover stage where my brain still goes off with what could happen next. And I could break that by throwing myself into some other media (not writing) but I'm not quite ready to let go of them. So, possibly I'll rewatch my favorite episodes from S2 (because of course I picked characters who are basically never going to interact again) and wallow a little.
On a less ridiculous note, the last time I talked about anything media-related, I'd just finished The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and since then, I've watched all of Fleabag and ended up liking it both more than I expected and in a more wholesome(?), less cynical way. I mean, I was prepared to watch a show where everyone was just awful (but funny), but instead found myself wanting to take care of everyone (except for Godmother, ugh, but *chef's kiss* to Olivia Colman for that performance.)
I'm also watching/re-watching Merlin, which was one of those shows I watched via osmosis and fic, catching an episode here or there and mostly just enjoying the fabulous fandom writers. ISTG, I think the slash writers actually toned down the Merlin/Arthur, at least from my divided attention as I'm watching while I fight with this Nancy Drew jigsaw puzzle, which I'm fairly certain I found through someone on my DW circle, so thank you for that. (It's the editions I grew up reading, nostalgia ftw.)
I also have this vintage Disney buttons puzzle waiting for if I ever finish Nancy and I'm waiting for the frenzy around this Haunted Mansion set to calm down so I can snag one at a reasonable price. (They sold out on property in an hour and the ebay sharks are asking crazy prices.)
And, no, I've never been much of a puzzle builder, but it's kind of soothing to sit around and match colors and shapes for an hour or two. It's also good for big Zoom calls where I don't have to be on video and don't have to participate, only listen. Strange times, desperate measures, you all know how that goes.
I, um, also might have ordered a purple-instagram-wall mask to complete my pandemic shopping spree, but it hasn't gotten here yet so I can't report on its usefullness.
Okay, I really have to go to bed, as D has a doctor's appt tomorrow morning that's going to require us to don full PPE and I have a feeling I'm going to need all the sleep I can get for that. I hope you're all doing as well as can be expected in this strange time. *kisses*

Sliding into the comments here re Fleabag and Mrs Maisel. I tried both of those, and found myself incoherently railing at the screen about everyone in it, wanting to shake some sense into them, and had to stop watching. What does that say about me I wonder...?

I would love to have you read my latest of the rare-pairs that my brain & heart have latched onto. I honestly did not expect to produce a novel, but I guess we can blame the pandemic, because I kept re-directing my brain back to it as often as I could.

Be careful out there in all your PPE!

Are we fb friends? or just twitter? I dropped a picture of D in all his PPE glory on fb. It was A Lot.

I hope the appointment went well.

I'm waiting patiently for more of SC and Lancelot to arrive, because, mmm, yes, he was perfect as the preux chevalier himself.
The appointment went well, though we could barely see D under all the PPE (I ended up not going in with him so I didn't have to suit up, yay.)
