I have a release going out tomorrow, and have to do 2020 appraisals and 2021 goals (which means I need to re-read the leadership guidelines so I can use the right words), and I'm supposed to put together a powerpoint deck to take to the CTO, and the country is just hell-fucking-bent on fulfilling all the horrible predictions, which is making concentrating really really hard, and and and.
::throws up hands::
What I'm saying, is that there might have been some ill-advised ebay retail therapy over the weekend and I might now be the proud owner of the American Girl doll I have coveted since the '90s but have talked myself out of buying since then. And there also might be some additional searching for her clothes.
It was a good deal, okay?
A less expensive distraction (at least monetarily--I can see the time-suck this is going to be...):
Those who have been around a long time know of my love of surfers (I have at least 2 surfer AUs and I milked H50 for all the connections I could get), so please trust me when I say this is a beautiful, amazing ride, made even more incredible by it having taken place at Maverick's, out at Half-Moon Bay, which is the kind of a break where you're more likely to read about people dying (or being menaced by sharks). Really, really gorgeous.
And then this came across my tumblr feed (also gorgeous) and it's been a really long time since I've written surfers, but maybe it's time to figure out the Mediterranean scene...? (Or Africa/Indian Ocean...?)
Okay, I need to go triple-check my links in the new release docs and get some sleep so I don't fall over on the deployment call, have a good night, everyone!

I've got my eye on a couple of cat plushies despite the fact I already have too many plushies.

I do remember your love of surfers. You've giving lovely popslash memories now.

I had that whole popslash series and then I did a Supernatural RPF Big Bang, too. And now I'm thinking about a little area somewhere in Indonesia where an AU Copley sends his people to cycle down after too many years of trying to fix bad things in the world. I'm pretty sure Joe went there years ago and just never left and now Nicky is showing up (and kind of annoyed at Copley b/c he's fine, he doesn't need any down time, but Copley won't budge) and I don't think anything exciting happens, but everyone kind of settles in and lets the water do its job.
Not that I'm projecting any wishes or anything...
