I can pretty much tell you that we wouldn't be here without [livejournal.com profile] nonchop reading this, paragraph by paragraph, and in some cases, line by line, as I wrote. And [livejournal.com profile] learn_me was my real estate agent. Every house in that story has a real life counterpart, and C found them for me. And then she fed me pictures (more about that in a minute.) [livejournal.com profile] without_me sent me a print of an anonymous surfer in the curl at Pipeline that was inspirational. All of them read and beta'd and held my hand when the sex just would.not.happen.

And J (y'all know J, right, my friend who I've dragged into the sparkly madness?) let me borrow her house, because it had the vibe that I wanted/needed for Lynn's house.

[livejournal.com profile] hammerhead22 posted this one of Justin on his birthday and I might have squealed because it was so perfectly the Justin I had just started writing.

And th, [livejournal.com profile] scot_ty posted the perfect JC, and [livejournal.com profile] dacey detagged it, and it was wonderful.

Then, when I was starting to hit the wall, [livejournal.com profile] beatpropx opened up his picture folder and for those of you who aren't addicted to surf documentaries, this is Dave Kalama (our favorite) at Pe'ahi (Jaws).

And [livejournal.com profile] learn_me spent several evenings keeping me distracted, with the best of her finds being these two, which if you look just right become our boys...

Waimea

Pipeline

Thanks to everyone!

::sigh:: I *wish* I had a job out there. ::sighs again::

As for surfing documentaries...oh, honey, pull up a browser and head on over to netflix. You have to start with The Endless Summer, which was made in 1966, the original underground surf movie. Then there's Endless Summer II, Riding Giants (which gives a nice history of surfing and is also really well-made), Step Into Liquid, and Laird: White Knuckle Extreme. By that point, you'll start recognizing the big names...I got to the point that I knew their voices. =) have fun!

i'm definitely going to be hitting those asap. (....laird, yum!) since it's my spring break and i'm landlocked, the best thing to do is at least watch a movie about the ocean, right?

heh. Laird Hamilton is Central Casting's ideal for the ultimate surf god. Enjoy!
