I can pretty much tell you that we wouldn't be here without [livejournal.com profile] nonchop reading this, paragraph by paragraph, and in some cases, line by line, as I wrote. And [livejournal.com profile] learn_me was my real estate agent. Every house in that story has a real life counterpart, and C found them for me. And then she fed me pictures (more about that in a minute.) [livejournal.com profile] without_me sent me a print of an anonymous surfer in the curl at Pipeline that was inspirational. All of them read and beta'd and held my hand when the sex just would.not.happen.

And J (y'all know J, right, my friend who I've dragged into the sparkly madness?) let me borrow her house, because it had the vibe that I wanted/needed for Lynn's house.

[livejournal.com profile] hammerhead22 posted this one of Justin on his birthday and I might have squealed because it was so perfectly the Justin I had just started writing.

And th, [livejournal.com profile] scot_ty posted the perfect JC, and [livejournal.com profile] dacey detagged it, and it was wonderful.

Then, when I was starting to hit the wall, [livejournal.com profile] beatpropx opened up his picture folder and for those of you who aren't addicted to surf documentaries, this is Dave Kalama (our favorite) at Pe'ahi (Jaws).

And [livejournal.com profile] learn_me spent several evenings keeping me distracted, with the best of her finds being these two, which if you look just right become our boys...

Waimea

Pipeline

Thanks to everyone!

I absolutely adored this piece of fiction. I think that it is by far my favorite that I've read from JuC day yet. The parallels that you drew between their real life struggles and the AU characters were great, but you threw enough of your own touches in to make them your own. That makes for fabulous story-telling. And the setting makes me want to start planning my vacation right now!

I have always loved AU's (and just about everything else) and now I am going to have to go read the rest of the stories that I just discovered when I clicked into this LJ! Thank you so much for sharing this with us!

Thank you! I'm so glad you enjoyed it; I enjoyed writing it. After 2 months of working on this, I'm seriously jonesing for Hawaii. I hope you find something else you like on the site; thanks for the kind words regardless.
