long time, no talk, but really nothing exciting has been going on. Getting up for school is kicking my ass this year (due to various logistical and work-related issues, this is the earliest I've had to haul my not-a-morning-person self out of bed in about a decade and it SUCKS), to the point that I forgot fall TV was back. I have managed to start reading again (sloooowly, but I have finish 2 whole books recently, go me) and writing is picking up, too (also slowly, but 100 words/day is better than 0.)

My greatest accomplishment (other than not burning the house down while I stagger around at the end of the day and attempt to make dinner) is to have chipped away at the ridiculous backlog of recs from the last months (or longer, sigh.) So, here are the eleven oldest Avengers/MCU bookmarks I have, slash, het, and gen, mostly featuring that archer (no surprise there, right?) but occasionally (more than once, even) not.



Silver Bells, by alphaflyer, The Avengers | MCU, Clint Barton/Natasha Romanoff, ~12,000 words, Teen === If I say the words 'undercover fake-married with a baby', will you run screaming? Because you shouldn't, not in this case. This one really, really works, on all kinds of levels, not the least of which is excellent competence porn, even with an infant in the mix.

What You Really, Really Want (The By the Skin of Her Teeth Remix), by PhoenixFalls, The Avengers | MCU, Pepper/Tony/Bruce, ~1500 words, Teen === For Remix, an additional scene for one of my favorite P/T/Bs, penknife's What You Really, Really Want featuring a fantastic Pepper voice.

Rivers and Roads, by Imogen_Penn, The Avengers, Clint Barton/Darcy Lewis, ~5700 words, Teen === After everything, Clint shows up to help Darcy pack up her life, and a text-based friendship is born.

The Land of the Living and the Land of the Dead (The Bridge is Love Remix), by igrockspock, The Avengers, Steve Rogers/Darcy Lewis, ~1900 words, Teen === Steve and Darcy and a conversation at the Met. During the zombie apocalypse, ♥

The Time to Find a Place to Land, by BlackEyedGirl, The Avengers, Clint Barton/Phil Coulson, ~20,200 words, Explicit === One of the classics of the post-Avengers fix-it genre (I can't believe I don't already have this one bookmarked, but I apparently, I lost track of it.)

Means and Mendacity, by so_shhhy, The Avengers, Clint Barton/Phil Coulson, ~38,800 words, Mature === Note-perfect Regency AU where Clint plays the part of the quiet, inexperienced bride caught up in an arranged marriage to Coulson's older, land-owning veteran of the (semi) Napoleonic wars (which actually works a lot better than you might think, especially if you lean toward a younger 616!Hawkeye.) Extra bonus points of love for how the rest of the cast (Barney, Steve, Natasha, Bucky, Pepper, Tony) work in the AU framework.

The Coulson Uncertainty Principle, by hetrez, The Avengers | Hawkeye | Agents of SHIELD | MCU, Clint Barton/Phil Coulson, ~18,200 words, Mature === Post-Avengers fix-it that brings in a lot of Hawkeye and AoS, and where Coulson only vaguely knows Clint, so the relationship-building all happens in the timeline of the story.

Five Times Someone Had a Nickname For Clint Barton, and One Time They Didn't, by desert_neon, The Avengers | MCU, Clint Barton/Phil Coulson, ~4600 words, Teen === Post-Avengers fix-it (no AoS) that's as much gen as slash, with nice team bonding and a little bit of angst.

problem child, by hoosierbitch, The Avengers | MCU, Clint Barton/Phil Coulson, ~26,800 words, Mature === Long & absorbing alternate backstory for how Clint came to SHIELD. Dark in some places, but not unrelievedly so. (Mind the warnings.)

On the Record, by florahart, The Avengers | Agents of SHIELD | MCU, Clint Barton/Phil Coulson, ~15,800 words, Explicit === Post-Avengers fix-it where Clint's desperate to sleep and the solution he comes up with (JARVIS hacking SHIELD for mission reports Coulson has dictated) ends up with some things that couldn't have happened if Phil really had died on the helicarrier. Nice Team interactions, too (x2, as Coulson's team is in the mix as well.)

You ain't seen nothing like me yet, by sirona, The Avengers | Agents of SHIELD | MCU, Clint Barton/Phil Coulson, ~4500 words, Mature === Another post-Avengers fix-it (yes, I know you're shocked to hear I've read them ALL); in this one, Clint knows more about what's going on than Phil does, which is a nice change of pace from the more standard trope in the fandom.
