things that are soothing my brain, ?/?
Apr. 13th, 2020 07:46 pmI have shows to binge (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel is indeed delightful) and books to read (my brain is latching onto Ilona Andrews' Clean Sweep series for some reason), but a lot of the time I can't find enough concentration for even an episode or a chapter. So I thought I'd share a few of the things that are distracting w/o a large time/energy commitment:
quarantine glamour on a budget via
rachsyme (The non-quarantine version is here and is also good for some excellent distraction.)

You probably already know this, but it bears repeating:
sirpatstew is reading his way through Shakespeare's sonnets, 1 each day, mostly in order. 2-4 minutes of a little focused meditation.
For slightly longer daily distractions,
ehle_jennifer is reading her way through Pride and Prejudice a bit at a time. (There's a link at the top of her insta for her youtube where it is slightly easier to navigate the back chapters.) Also, if you have an Audible credit handy, Rosamund Pike's narration of P&P is *divine*.
My alma mater,
DukeChapel is live every day at 5 p.m. ET (US) with carillon bells from the chapel.
The National Gallery of Art in DC has been posting virtual tours of their galleries, one each day at
