I have shows to binge (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel is indeed delightful) and books to read (my brain is latching onto Ilona Andrews' Clean Sweep series for some reason), but a lot of the time I can't find enough concentration for even an episode or a chapter. So I thought I'd share a few of the things that are distracting w/o a large time/energy commitment:

  • quarantine glamour on a budget via [twitter.com profile] rachsyme (The non-quarantine version is here and is also good for some excellent distraction.)

  • Via [personal profile] destina: Apollo 13 in real time, 50 years ago.

  • You probably already know this, but it bears repeating: [twitter.com profile] sirpatstew is reading his way through Shakespeare's sonnets, 1 each day, mostly in order. 2-4 minutes of a little focused meditation.

  • For slightly longer daily distractions, [instagram.com profile] ehle_jennifer is reading her way through Pride and Prejudice a bit at a time. (There's a link at the top of her insta for her youtube where it is slightly easier to navigate the back chapters.) Also, if you have an Audible credit handy, Rosamund Pike's narration of P&P is *divine*.

  • My alma mater, [facebook.com profile] DukeChapel is live every day at 5 p.m. ET (US) with carillon bells from the chapel.

  • The National Gallery of Art in DC has been posting virtual tours of their galleries, one each day at [twitter.com profile] ngadc
