In the Bleak Midwinter, Julia Spencer-Fleming, a contemporary(ish) semi-cozy mystery featuring former-Army-helicopter-pilot-turned-Episcopal-priest Clare Fergusson and Sheriff Russ Van Alstyne, which, are you kidding me? Total catnip to me even before Clare unveiled her MG. No, really, I enjoyed this a lot, especially the two warring but respectful viewpoints that Clare and Russ bring to the table. I have to go get the next one in the series from the library.
Hawkeye and Mockingbird, McCann/Lopez - I'm pretty sure Bobbi is showing up in this Clint/Darcy I'm in the middle of writing, so I went back to this and WidowMaker to kind of get some comics canon sorted out in my brain (but she's totally played by Adrianne Palicki in my brain.) It's not the greatest arc but dealing with the whole Skrull thing is enough to make anybody choke on the characterization.
now
Death Mask, Jim Butcher, Book 5 of the Dresden Files (the Shroud of Turin one) - Susan (the reporter girl friend) is in this one and seriously, I still see no attraction there. There's definitely more spark with Murphy, but I still totally buy that Dresden would start a war with the Red Court over S, even if it's not for the reason he thinks it is. Also, Marcone is always a welcome addition to the craziness, so I'm having fun with this one. (Though I do like the Summer/Winter Court storylines, too.) Audio still courtesy of James Marsters, so I'm good there, too.
Daring Greatly, Brene Brown - I am not usually in the Oprah-self-help groove (more power to you if you are--I am firmly in the camp that you work with what works for you, it's just that the books she loves don't resonate with me; different strokes; YMMV; etc; etc) but this one keeps showing up in various parts of my life and it got to the point where I felt like my subconscious was pointing it out to me for some reason and it might be a good thing to check it out. So far, I'm into it--sometimes I am so surrounded by men that I forget how much I like a female perspective (which is generally the time L and I start making the ridiculous scheduling effort it takes for our lives to align long enough for dinner and drinks and movies of the non-super-hero variety.)
Hawkeye, Matt Fraction/David Aja/Annie Wu - I went back through the entire arc in anticipation of today's release of #21, so the Barton brothers have done a number on me (and Kate Bishop, too! Gah, I'd forgotten how much I love Kate's strength and especially how they've shown it to mature over the arc of this series.) No spoilers, but if you've read 21 and want to flail with someone, I am here for you!

I think I have resolved my end-of-series-blues for Courtney Milan's Brothers Sinister series well enough to let me read The Suffragette Scandal, but maybe not. I've got a stack of steampunk novels to go through, too. We'll see.
