Notes: I swear I had an outline for this. And I thought it'd be about 30K words, ahahaha, holy shit.

Real, actual notes for this are that I find these two adorable in canon, but I couldn't reconcile my internal understanding of Pike with the thought that he would seduce (or allow himself to be seduced by) an ensign 20 years his junior in his command structure. So, clearly, I had to take care of that issue and set it post-canon. Right? Right. Still an age difference, but at least he's not her commanding officer. Age difference, I can deal with; power imbalance is noooooot what I was going for.

Spoilers for the second season of Disco, every last Byzantine, shoe-horned-in plot twist of it (she says with love even after having to figure out how some of that shit could possibly have worked, no really.)

Spoilers also for Pike's storyline from TOS (I know, it aired 40 years ago, but I'll warn regardless.)

So, I have this Star Trek: Discovery fic that I've been writing since last December--I posted an update in January and then have been grinding away on the next part ever since, just, every night almost, plugging away on the g-doc that has all the unposted stuff I've written and I knew it was getting long, but I kept telling myself that there was a lot that didn't fit into this penultimate part, and I'd move that out when I finally got to the stopping point for this part.

Yeah, so I finally finished this part up and, um, it was 30k words, whoops? (Which brings the fic up to 60k+ already, so hey, novel, here we come.)

Anyway, it's the Pike/Tilly post-S2 fic that I've been yammering about for, yeah, 4 months now, and it's not quite finished but it is at a reasonable stopping point (unlike the January update, which was just a not-fun situation but my brain can only handle so much apparently.)

I find these two adorable in canon, but could not reconcile my internal vision of Pike with him in a relationship with an ensign 20 years his junior while on active duty, so clearly, I had to write about what happened next, right? right.

Notes: So, there I was, happily streaming S2 b/c I know you know I love me some Captain Pike, and then there was this argument in a shuttle and the next thing I know there's a private meeting with booze and Pike unbuttoning the collar of his uniform and my brain said, oh, really?! look at that! and here we are, nearly 10K of PWP w/feelings later.

Summary: In a lot of ways, Chris isn't surprised at all to get the message--a couple of coordinates and a stardate a month after the first anniversary of Discovery's crossing--even if he hasn't exchanged a word with Tyler since they'd walked away from each other outside of Starfleet.
