random thoughts and a baking adventure
Apr. 11th, 2020 05:11 pmFor the first time in the history of forever, FB's creepy ad algorithm is making me actually happy: it keeps serving me ads for CBS All Access with promo shots of Captain Pike in the full TOS uniform. Every time it pops up, my brain is all 'ooooooo', which is 1000x better than its usual 'this is bad, so bad, sososo bad' refrain.
I am not doing a huge amount around the house, but I did manage to go through all my bras and slips and things and got rid of the ones that don't fit, etc, and then washed all of the ones I'm keeping, so I have a full set of undergarments even though I'm basically wearing the same 2 of the most comfortable ones, \o?
Oh, also, BabyBoy tore apart the living room to make a film studio for a couple of his classes and he found a stack of cookbooks that I've been looking for for I don't even know how long, so that's cool. (I'd been thinking that they'd somehow gotten into a Friends of the Library donation box and got shipped off, but no, there they were on the bottom shelf of the extra coffee table.)
Also, BabyBoy celebrated his 20th (!!!) birthday last week and said he didn't want a cake, but that he'd help me make cheesecake from my brother's recipe. (Grumpy!Engineer!Uncle B and his supremely competent attorney wife (yes, they are a romance sub-genre unto themselves) are legendary for shipping cheesecakes all over the world at the holidays.)
( cutting for the adventure )
