Catching up….

The boys and I did spend a long weekend at Disney World (for those of you counting, it was my third trip in 2019 (10 in-park days, yes, I have a problem.) It was terribly fun, except for the 20 minutes or so in line for Rock'n'Rollercoaster when BabyBoy started feeling bad, and then threw up (fortunately, in a bag.) #2Son & I were pretty convinced that was it for the day, but BB went & crashed out on the retaining wall in the courtyard & drank a bottle of water & felt reasonably okay, so we went to the Frozen Singalong and, by the power of the Mouse, everything was fine after that. Seriously. It was close to midnight by the time we got back to the room & everyone was fine. Other than that, we did the late-night Magic Kingdom ticket and blasted our way through a ridiculous number of rides in three hours. It was so low-attendance that it was kind of spooky, but it was 2 in the morning before we got back to the rooms. (My technical accomplishment for the month was figuring out how to cut up and upload video to Instagram, so if you follow me there, I got the MK's Kiss Goodnight posted from that night.)

All I have to say about Game of Thrones is that I'm sure it will all make much better sense when** GRRM manages to get it written.

I honestly don't know what else I've been doing lately. I mean, the high point of the weekend was getting my car cleaned inside and out, so you can see how super-exciting it's been. The boys are cooking dinner a couple of nights this week, so I might have a few more online recipe sources to vet and pass along, but that's about it.

I hope you're all doing well and are enjoying the warmer/cooler temperatures, as your hemispherical location allows.

(**if, sigh)

Okay, so last weekend was a pretty geeky weekend, too – we had two D&D sessions (where my contribution is basically to organize the running of the vacuum cleaner and clearing out enough space in the fridge to hold the snacks. Oh, and take the Berserker!Dog out when he gets too excited) and it was Star Wars Day and Free Comic Book Day and more Game of Thrones.

GoT 8.04, pretty grumpy if you'd rather skip )

Long-time readers/circlers/flisters know my geekdom started with the X-Men comics, specifically Wolverine and Jean Grey and Cyclops waaaay back in the day (like, when W was first introduced to the comic) *and* that I pretty much broke up with them over Dark Phoenix, so to say that I have … mixed feelings about this movie is a drastic understatement. I know it's the classic arc and there was no way we weren't going to get it rebooted, but, sigh, did no one actually read it before they decided to have Sophie Turner go off on how good it feels to be bad?

Sigh.

The boys and I are going to WDW this weekend to burn off the rest of their tickets before they expire. BabyBoy & I are probably going to be back the weekend after that, too, so he can audition for some stuff. And possibly the week after *that*, if he gets a callback (which is a longshot, but still possible.) I am stocking up on the audiobooks for the drive(s).

I have cautious hopes for the new Spidey movie.

Baby Sussex and his out-of-the-blue name is giving me something to smile about on this draggy Wednesday. (D called me from class to go through the succession and wee Archie's place in it, which is proof enough of love for me, as he barely has any idea about any of the young royals but knows that I am Into It and trusts that I will Be There for his students.)

It would be really awesome to win a lottery this week, which is all I'm going to say about work today.

Have a lovely day/evening, all.

...or close enough to have cleared out my inbox to call it good and give it a month or so to fill back up (and to give me a chance to fb the SPN/J2 BB writers.) I knew I had a lot, but I didn't really think I'd let it get quite this bad!

fic and vids from the Avengers, The Mummy, Bourne Legacy, The Unusuals, The Losers, Star Trek, Game of Thrones, and Hawaii Five-0 )
